The THINGS TO SEEK!
You will agree with me that it's so awesome to know God, the same God who created all that is in existence!!! I mean, that GRAND!...it's even more mind-blowing when we walk in His truth and the confidence that He is able to freely give us all things(Romans 8:32).In the midst of all these "things" , i have come to the realization that there has got to be some "things" that really matter, and that realization influnced an ealier note so titled. Thank God for His word, I have stumbled on a few more "things" that matter and "things" every one who is interested in living the kind of life God intended for His people should eagerly seek! 10 of them that can really make a big differnece in any life:
- The Understanding of the Men of Issachar (1 Chr 12:32)
The times - They understood public affairs, the temper of the nation, and the tendencies of the present events. Apparently, their brethren had the fullest confidence in their understanding, wisdom, experience, and skill and nothing was done but by their direction and advice.
- The Insight of the Wise men from the east (Matt 2:1-12)
The Wise men form the east sought and followed the Star which signaled the birth of the Messiah due to their unusual ability to see clearly and intuitively into such a complex scenario.
- The Believing Confidence and Faith of the 3 Hebrew Boys (Daniel 3:16-18)
Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-nego in response to King Nebuchadnezzar, answered promptly, and without hesitation, showing that they had carefully considered the subject, and that with them it was a matter of settled and intelligent principle, hence they needed no time to contrive or deliberate on how they were going to word their response. We call these the three, boys (and they were indeedyoung men), but we should rather call them the three champions, the first three of the worthies of God's kingdom among men.
- The Tarrying of the Upper room Believers (Acts 1:4, 2:1)
Having been asked not to leave Jerusalem by Jesus, waiting for the Promised gift of the Father, the disciples tarried in fasting, sharing and in prayers until the day of Pentecost. If we are to receive anything from God, Our Father, we should be ready to tarry in the Presence of the Father.
- The Faithfulness of David’s Mighty Men (2Sam 23:13-17)
This Mighty men of David were faithful, even to the point of shedding their blood for the Lord’s anointed. God is still seeking for such faithfulness among His Own today!
- The Eagerness of the Berean Men (Acts 17:11)
The Bereans were “greatly eager” and expressed an unusual thirst and desire for the truth. Where is our hunger for hearing and hearing God’s word?
- The Boldness of the early Disciples (Acts 4:31)
In one of the most Powerful prayer sessions held in history, the meeting venue trembled and shook as all in attendance were filled with the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Boldness. Even in this age, we still need the spirit to help us speak boldly!
- The Unity of the Tower of Babel builders (Gen 11:5-6)
The world had one language and the children men birthed a dream to build a tower that reaches to the heavens! Even God recognized that there was no limit to what such Unity could accomplish!
- The Sensitivity of the Samaria’s 4 lepers (2Kings 7:3-4)
My favourite Bible characters may have been sick in the body, but they definitely were not sick in spirit, as they examined their present circumstance carefully and decided it was time to take bold steps. God used them miraculously to bring about the fulfillment of the prophecy of Elisha.
- The Oneness of the Early Believers (Acts 4:32)
The early believers were one in heart and in mind. There were no disagreements in doctrine, in practices nor in matters of faith, as all pursued the same interest, and had the same ends and views; and there was a strict union of their affections to each other; their souls were knit to one another; so that there was, but as it were, One soul in this large body of Christians.
